Osborne Family, From Buchanan County, Virginia

          
 
       James M. Osborne
 
James Osborne was born September
26th 1844. He was married twice.His first
wife was Martha Viers born 1844 from North 
Carolina the daughter of John and Alice
Viars. He later married Rebecca Gross
born 1860. He was the son of Ruel
Priest Osborne and Syndesta Breeding from
Buchanan County. The union had six
children.
 
 James served in the Confederate War
with his father in Company '' C '' 34th
Virginia Cavalry. He was inducted on
August 15th 1862 at Dicks Creek in
Tazewell County, Virginia. He was
paroled in Charleston, West Virginia,
along with his father Ruel P. Osborne.
 
 He was listed at time of parole as age
20 yrs, and 5 feet 6 inches tall.
